Garcinia Cambogia – Kudampuli for Cooking

Kudampuli is also known as the fruit of Garcinia Cambogia. Garcinia cambogia but commonly referred to as Fish Tamarind, Malabar Tamarind, or Kerala Tamarind. Other names include Gambooge, Garcinia gummi-gutta, Brindal Berry, and Gorikapuli. In Ayurveda, kudampuli is used for treating stomach ulcers, arthritis, and some uterine problems, to promote digestion, and as a carminative and antiseptic.

What is kudampuli?

This little yellowish-green fruit which looks similar to a pumpkin is known by a variety of other names like Garcinia Cambogia, Malabar tamarind, Garcinia gummi-gutta, and Brindle berry. Ayurveda has recognized the health secrets of a kudampuli. It is often used as an alternative medicine for its admirable anti-colic action.
